Hey guys, Today I went out and bought a 1200 watt sony xplod 10 " subwoofer, Brought it home and hooked it up and sounded like crap, So i see the surround around the cone is torn about 3/4's around it, It is torn where it meets on the base of it, How could i fix this ? p.s. Bought the sub used so no way of returning it ,

I was unaware you could effectively fix a blown up sub.

Just call me chris.
I wouldn't try and fix it. When mine blow it'll be time for new ones. But I've had mine for five years so I've got my moneys worth. What'd you pay for this sub?

I paid 70 bucks for it, It looked like new til i got it home and seen it was tore all around the surround rubber, It was hard enough to pay for this sub, still got the original box and papers, doubt i could get wal-mart or somewheres to send it to get reconed

Go to Walmart buy the exact same subwoofer
Go home and make sure it's 100% exacty the same.
Put broken one in the box
Return to Walmart with your reciept.
You get your money back and you have a brand new subwoofer.

Ps- $70 for a used woofer is a ripoff. And how do you not check for rips/tears?

^^ really? Lol

Who ever you bought it from, take it back to them and either get your money back or punch him. I do agree tho..how do you not notice a tear in the sub when you're buying it?

epoxy. works like a charm.
This is also true. I got an eclipse sub a couple years ago from a friends of mine that was going to throw it away. Some guerrilla glue held it together, and it's actually STILL working today in someone else's car. Haha

Walmart will take back anything.

If you have a reciept you'll get cash
No reciept? Store credit :)

Only thing you can't return are Xbox/wii/ps3 because they have serial numbers that print on the reciept So when you return they check all serial numbers.

Not "really that you can do it",
really that you would and not feel guilty at all

But to each his own I guess. Lol

If you're on THAT tight of a budget I guess do what you have to.
