Rebuilding Engine, I have some ?'s

Alright, I'm currently running a 1993 Integra LS. She is fully stock. I'm starting to consider getting a second engine and rebuilding it from scratch. In my Integra I have a 1.8L non-vtec.

I was recently reading an article about a guy out in Cali with my same build of car.

I'd like to mimic some of the things he's done, because he has a really nice build that I admire and have dreamed of.

There is a guy close to me, who is selling a B16a engine block with a pr3 head for 300 bucks.

If I got this, could I do what Parnell did to his car, would this engine fit and.. does it sound like a wise investment that will work out?

If i were you I'd start by reading up on ls/vtec, how to build one, and the dangers of not building one correctly..

Agreed. Turbo what you have. That engine build is far too advanced for you at this time.

If you just throw a turbo kit on there that is similar to that one and keep the boost low, I'm sure you'll be more than pleased with it. You don't even need to swap heads for that matter as the LS is a torquey little bastard. I made 230whp and 210wtrq back in the day on a retardedly simple cheap setup.

Boost it, learn more about it, blow it, and then build it right the next time when funds and experience are higher. That is my advice.

Thanks for all the responses guys. I think I'm going to buy the b16a for sale, have some cheap fun with it and go on from there.

No fucks given.
Nice job ignoring everything we said. :p
You should know how these noobs are by now, Nick.... Unless you tell them exactly what they want to hear, they'll ignore anything you say. Even if it's the better option.

I haven't ignored what you guys have said. Muckman pointed out to me that this was an advanced build. Right now my budget only consists of having a second engine to rebuild for reliability in case my 1.8 blows. I'm either going to buy this kids 1.6 or get a 1.8 from a yard, but everyone down here rips those out quick.

So, I'm going to spend less time worrying about building a super race engine, and spend time on rebuilding a slightly bumped up from stock, engine.
