Reason for what we do?

So I've been watching all these fat lace videos and the like, and they all talk about why they are into cars and all that. so it made me get to wondering why are we all so obsessed with cars and being lowered and (for us at least) integras. I guess the first time i got into cars was in the high school when i was trying to get my first car and my aunt gave me her broken 03 mercury sable (hahahaha yeah i know). i took the time with my dad to fix it and from that point on i couldn't get enough of cars. i started to hang out with this kid who drove a lowered accord and all his friends and that pushed me to really want to get a car that would be worth modding. Before this i had always wanted a integra, i don't know why it was just awesome and so i sold the mercury and scoured for a decent integra to buy and after a whole summer of looking came over my 01 ls. after that i had gotten my dream car and am where i am today, but i think i stay in the car scene, now, not only for the cars. i have found that the more i get in to cars the better friendships i make, so its almost like the car scene for me is about the people almost as much as its about the cars...
I don't know it was just on my mind and i figured id share it and see what you guys thought...

I got into cars because in middle school , my friends brother had a srt4 and a sti I started hanging around them more and more then when i got old enough I decided I wanted an integra ever since I've been going to the "races" every weekend

I'm on my way to the track right now LOL .

i do it cause im into cars and i like to be different and instead of putting $ into drinkin/drugs i spend it on my car. I got into integras cause my grandpa owned 3 (not at one time)

nice, ya my friend with the accord really sparked my love for cars, once you just get a little taste of it, its hard to stop learning lol.. one day ill find a track near me and go, i need a car worth going with first, my integra is more of a daily, slow kinda car, i have a e30 but the trannys shot... one day it will be alive haha

I'm sure there are quite a number of people on here who wish their Dad's still had their old cars. My Dad's had a handful of awesome muscle cars, and purpose built race cars. Lol.

Why mod an Integra? I like the look, they're cheap as fuck, and with the help of a turbo they can be decently zippy.

My reason for being in cars is my dad, grew up at the race track...got my license and from there its been down hill (60+ cars in 11 years lol). My reason for continuing to dump money into a car that is, well it keeps me sane lol. I would much rather spanks some shit talkers ass in a drag race then beat em up and risk going to jail. Plus while in highschool it kept me away from blowing money on beer/drugs like a lot of my friends, I look at where they are at now and think "thank god I didnt get involved in that shit".

I have met a ton of good people in through working on cars so thats another reason I keep doing it. All my friends are gear heads and I enjoy the friendly shit talking that pushes us to out do one another lol

Some times this is on my mind as well man.

When i was about 3-4 or around that i had about 100+ toy cars. after that i never got into cars till highschool. by then all I wanted was a teggy. A stick shift, it was my dream. and one day i gathered the money after working for ever, and i went out looking. Well because of my retarded ass, i didnt check everything so i basically got ripped off with a piece of shit teg.

But in the end it all came out for the better because i can finally say, I FIXED THAT or I PUT THAT ON. I built my car and it makes me so proud every time i do something to it. idk why. Inner feelings just explode. In fact, the day after i got it, i woke up at 6 am and went outside, i jumped in it and began to learn stick. just the feeling of being in the car and saying ITS MINE is just insane.

Dude when i read your post i feel the same way, the feeling that you did it your self and can say that makes me just so proud. Nothing is better than saying "ya this car is what it is because i bleed and sweat into it". I didn't think this would take off, but either way i think it is more than awesome that we all love cars and because of it are better people!

also thanks for sharing your input, i was just curious and wanted to see what your reason was. I think cars(integra) have changed my life and i couldn't imagine my life without my ls, its like one of my friends1!!!!!
