rear wheel bearing

Wheel bearing on the back passenger side has started making like a whirring noise, replaced a front one about 6the months ago and its the same noise just not as loud. Just wondering if u need to press it like you do the front ones or could I do it myself?. Les schwab charges way to much for me to have to go there again.

I need to do this too. Just haven't had time. I know there is a 1in nut on the back you have to remove and slide the retainer out of the hub. Then I think there are 3 more smaller bolts you have to remove. Then you pull the hub assembly off and put The new one on in the opposite order. No pressing needed. You will need to remove the caliper and bracket.

Okay sounds easy enough to me! Hopefully it lasts long enough for me to order a new one

*Beard not included
step 1: remove tire
step 2: remove axle nut - 32mm (easy if you put the tire back on without the center cap and use a breaker bar)
step 3: remove brake caliper (dont disconnect any lines, just tie it up or support it some way)
step 4: remove brake rotor
step 5: remove wheel bearing/hub

do everything backwards to put it back together and your done, its pretty easy to do

NOOB Friendlier

step 1: remove tire
step 2: remove dust cap with flat head
step 3: open tab on axle nut with flat head and hammer
step 4: remove axle nut - 32mm (easy if you put the tire back on without the center cap and use a breaker bar)
step 5: remove brake caliper (dont disconnect any lines, just tie it up or support it some way)
step 6: remove brake rotor
step 7: remove wheel bearing/hub

WARNING: you might need a chisel, 5 pound hammer, and MAP gas torch, sometimes the inner ring form the old bearing gets frozen and might need some muscling out. Autozone bearing puller rental tool might make it easier after to popped it out slightly. Any questions post them.:thumbs up

Rear nut isn't notched. And its not a 32mm. I put a 1in socket on it snugly with no play.

:nono:

32 mm=1 1/4"

honda uses the same nut for the axle and rear hub
You have proven nothing with your picture. That is the front, noob :) And when somebody says, "I did this", maybe slow down and think a little.

Lol @ do work. I've worked on my car a bit ;). I will admit I have not replaced a rear hub, but you have a guy above you saying he used a 1", so...I will let you 2 duke it out. Posting the front to start with made me seriously doubt your abilities.
