Rear main seal / clutch

So a guy was checking out my car and says if my oil leak is the rear main, it could leak bad enough to soil my clutch causing it to slip. Thoughts on this?

Definetly true. Will also cause the clutch pedal to feel as if it is bumpy or skipping. You will feel a pulsation.

So I googled this issue and apparently once the clutch disc is soaked in oil it cannot be cleaned and reused?

Dont think it can, its oil soaked and you cant get it out. You will probably create a lot of heat using it and wear out bearings and other components.
