Random buttons and switch

Hey guys, I bought an integ the other day, and while checking it over, I came across some buttons and switches. There is a switch with a pushbutton next to it nead the hood release, and a push button near the ignition. They are wired up, but I havent noticed anything they may do. Any one have some ideas:2confused I do not think its a cut off switch, because I could start the car with the switch in the off position.

Unless you want to trace the wires you're going to need to ask the previous owner.

On a side note, and instead of making a new thread, I am planning on putting in a fuel pump cut off switch via the method listed in this link. http://http://autospeed.com/A_107975/cms/article.html. I found a site I am planning on getting some of the relays from, because Id rather get higher quality relays than pick them up at Radioshack.

The site doesnt offer everything Im looking for, so I may just keep searching, but I need some guidance on what to get. The article says I need a dpdt relay, and an automotive relay. I have found a DPDT, http://www.skycraftsurplus.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=609&strVarSel=&strCompare=. The amp rating is low, and I would expect this not to be a problem because it is downstream from heavy duty relay directly connected to the fuel pump. I cannot tell how many contacts are on the back of the relay, so Id like to know if this is suitable for the application. I plan on ordering the parts within a few days, and getting the rest of my supplies elsewhere and try to make a working system before tearing apart the interior.

EDIT I found out what the buttons do. they involve putting the cars alarm into silent mode. I ended up in that predicament this morning, and had to call to ask what had happened, apparantly I engaged 'silent' mode yesterday when I did my hood cable reloc.
