hey guys quick question,
I adjusted my FITV the other day by removing the back portion, and tightening the plastic assembly down. I didnt crank down on it because I wasnt sure where I should stop, but at what point should I tighten it to? When the engine is up to operating temp I can put my finger over the hole in the throttlebody for the FITV and after about 5 seconds ill feel that the end of my finger got sucked down into the port. Should I crank down on it more so that there is no vacuum there what so ever when its warm or is this acceptable? I dont see any change in the idle if I put my finger over the port or not so should I just leave it be.
Also, when the car is having its rough idle issue, if I disconnect the 5/16 vacuum line that goes to the air boost valve, I can feel vacuum being applied to it, but after the idle smoothes out I dont feel it anymore. am I ok to just block off the air boost valve and abandon it because none of the smaller vacuum lines that go to it are hooked up anymore. I didnt see any change in how it idled with them hooked up or not so I removed them because there was no place to connect them on my cold air intake.
