Quick cam gear question???

Hey guys I am on this site all the time reading but never post. I got a question though. I already have I/H/E but want a little more power but am on a very tight budget. I was thinking about ordering some aftermarket cam gears but was wondering if it would be worth the money, what brand would be the best for the price, and if i would need a tune? Thanks for the help guys

well it all depends do you have aftermarket cams if so yeah i think so i got cams and cam gears and i tuned them my self also what kind of motor you got i have an ls and i widein the lda which helps me out alot so it all depends on what you are looking for more power top end or bottom end hope this helps alittle to clarify what you want and what your looking for.

I have a b18a1 engine with stock cams. thats why i didnt know if there would be a point in just getting cam gears. or should i just save for cams?

Get a spare head and build it and swap it in when your ready, I'm finishing up mine now, started with a port n polish, port matched my stock manifold, 68mm throttle body, bored out the manifold to match, stock cams, gears and lifters, titanium springs and retainers, titanium valve guides, nitride coated valves, new valve seals and seats and it's going to be mated to the existing block with a copper head gasket and arp bolts, it's longish process, but going to be well worth it, working on my spare block next
