Question...

I've been looking through engine bay pics, just getting Ideas, and I have been seeing this thing sitting in the front right corner of some engine bays. Mine, as you can see in the pic, doesn't have one and didn't have it when I bought it. Can someone tell me what it is and if its beneficial at all.

If I'm right, it's the abs module. Or cruise control. I think abs though.

Cruise control goes right above driver side mount. I'm not sure why I still have my cruise control i've never used it but like once to try it. I like to have total control. Lol

This. Rs doesn't come with abs. Ls, gs, gsr, and type r do. All abs does is prevent your brakes from locking up if you slam on them really hard, giving you more control during intense situations.

Type Rs had ABS. Type Rs also had sunfroofs.

Acura USA put sunroofs on some of them from the factory because they werent sure it would sell. Also they have ABS, only the stripped down versions in Japan didnt have abs.

x2 proper pads wont allow you to lock up anyways. Im also not convinced the abs unit allows for a full system bleed, havent tried bleeding a system with ate blue yet to be for sure. but the unit holds a bit of fluid in it. which allows air in when you open the nipple up.

I still have abs. Only thing it does is make the front of the car shake under really hard braking. Either that or my shitty warped rotors that need to be changed. Lol

took it out. for more reasons than one. i havent tracked it without abs yet so cant really tell you. But i would suggest just going to a different pad like the Hawk HPS and learning some different techniques on braking ie modulating the pedal, those are the biggest helpers.
