Problems with my stock cd player in 99 GSR

So yea this is my first post, so if something isn't kosher, go easy. A couple of months ago i began experiencing problems with my stock cd player. Every time i tried to put in a cd, the face would read PEO, and would then eject the cd. It happened occasionally at first, but now i haven't been able to listen to my music for about a month and a half. The radio does work though. I loathe everything about the radio, its music, dj's, commercials, etc, so this means nothing to me. I'm sure most of you would agree. So please, if anyone else knows what the issue is or how to fix it, please let me know. Thanks!

Wait... What?
you would be better off just buying a new cd player with the dash kit and wiring harness then trying to fool with that....

i thought so man, but i went through over 50 (no joke) of the cds I own and it said the same thing. I treat my cds like my car. Immaculate. No way it could be that.

is it pretty difficult to mess with? I just hate the thought of having my window smashed out for the 3rd time for a cheap cd player. (My 89 Ls and 91 Rs were both jacked for a little 90 dollar cd player. its gettin the damn window fixed that drives me nuts!!!) :angryfire

usually when i see that code its the cd, but if youve tried cds that are in good condition its prolly the laser. I agree just go buy a aftermarket deck... not bad life for a stock 10 year cd player IMO
