problem with my 91 da9

hey everyone im fairly new here so i hope someone can help me out with the problem i have with my integra.

so this is the problem the car runs fine and all but i started to have problems with a electrical issue from time to time i want to start my car up so the engine starts cranking and from inside of the car i start hearing a spark and i know its not coming from the engine bay, so when i start hearing the spark i start smelling a burnt smell so i been trying to figure out wat is going on because at nighttime when i start the car it turns on fine and as soon as i turn on the headlights or press on the brake the car lights dim and it turns off. also i just recently notice that its also melting my speedometer and my fuel needle and tempature needle just bounce around. ive been wanting to take it to a person that does electrical but i have no money for it so i been trying to see if i can fix the problem.

Check wires behind cluster also follow brake light wires. Mine did a similar celica and it ended up being the wire 6" from the bulb had wore and was grounding out

so yesterday i took my whole dash apart and i was looking thru all the wires and sure enough there were to wires that were burnt bad and they were pealed from the middle they were two main power wires that were arching togehter so everytime they touched they would spark so fix that and i kept looking and i saw more wires that were poorly ground so i fix those so after three hours of hard work everything works now and safe myself a few hundred bucks thanx for u advice EMD513
