The only bad thing about racing with power steering is that alot of times you will end up working the pump and fluid so hard that it can't keep up. Some serious auto Xing on a hot day will have you outrunning the power steering in no time making it inconsistent and unpredictable. That's why most people take the power steering out of a car that they race. Manual steering racks don't run into this problem

you could get a proper kit to keep p/s when doing a turbo kit though. i was looking into a "full race" kit. they're pricy but they work.

i ran my car without PS from day one (pipe was leaking, 4 eyars ago). i recently (two days ago) replaced it and fixed er up... its WAY easier to turn in on corners. if i knew that, i would have replaced it a long ass time ago. i figured it would be the same at speed, but it helps a lot more than i thought. i wish i would have had it when i was auto-xing and road racing
