Power steering leak-- most likely spot?...

I'm gonna clean around the pump, hoses, rack, etc., and look for the leak. But is there a "most likely" spot on a Gen 2? Sure hope it isn't the rack. I can handle the pump with a seal kit, but the rack's way outta my league...

I have a 90 LS and it is constantly leaking fluid. I had someone start the car and steer it back and forth while I was looking for the leak and saw the fluid foaming out of the reservoir. It didn't happen immediately, it took a minute or two till it started leaking. This might be someplace to look. I haven't fixed it yet either.

It's blowing past the cap. When it gets low i just put more in, it get really annoying.

Hmmmm... That seems to suggest that the cap itself may be faulty, or the top flange where the cap goes in is too worn , or... maybe there's something else wrong somewhere that's letting the pressure run too high? Maybe the PS speed sensor? I dunno. I'll post back when I've had time to look at mine.

maybe the leak could be from the pump itself or the belt is goibg bad?

For you, I hope it isn't the rack....I had to replace my rack ($800 later :O(). That really hit the wallet pretty hard!

From the bay to LV
check the section of hose from the back of the top of the head back down to before the rack , mine was leaking from that area. I think it's due to the heat or maybe a rock shot up and nicked it or something.
