Just bought a 99 gsr integra and the power antenna doesn't even move wen the radio is turned on or off I turned the radio on in the car and don't hear any noise coming from the motor so do I need to replace the motor? And where would a good place be to buy a whole new assembly?

Ever since i installed my Kenwood deck, my antenna no longer rises up. I already check all fuses and it is fine. I personally dont like it up. Even though mine doesnt rise up anymore, i still get great reception on FM stations :thumbs up

the gears inside the motor break and causes failure in the motor .you have to replace the entire assembly
DON'T install one of these GAY looking rubber antennas

Lol, gotta check fuses AND connections first on any electrical issue. If you turn the radio off, it doesn't go down? I'm assuming the motor is making noise to pull it down but it isn't functioning. They aren't hard to remove, take it out of the car and inspect the inside of the motor.

Yes it went up no problem when I turn the radio off the motor makes noise to go back down but it stays up should I go by and new mast for it?

No, take out the motor like I was saying and inspect the inside of it. Don't waste money on parts you may not need until you are sure.

I took the front cover off or the motor and found that some of the teeth were worn down on the mast didn't get to the drive gear yet

So I bought a whole new assembly online from metra it came in and the unit is smaller first of all so had to make custom brackets then fix all the wiring now it's about 80% installed and it went up the first time and wouldn't go back down now it basically doesn't do anything I don't even hear the motor kick in when I turn the radio on or off so I don't recommend metra antennas to any of you all
