Possible Trouble Ahead?

So yesterday i was leaving advanced auto parts. I get in my car and go to start it up, and if makes this big like "whomp" sound as if it was sucking in air, and then nothing... i gave it a few seconds and then tried again and it started right up. it had sorta made this noise before but never this loud and it alwasy started before when it did it...

It didnt happen to day, but instead i was taking a realativly slow left turn in second i was well enough in the rpms it should have jerked or anyting, but i felt this sudden loss of power for about 1 second and then it was normal... any ideas? i havent got a clue where to start looking.

Oh also if i let my car sit for a few days it wont start on the first turn. i just replaced the battery like 6 months ago, but it feels like the battery just doesnt have enough in it... Then it starts right up second turn... so maybe there is a leak in the electrical system? like the power is still flowing somewhere...

i dont know about a leak in the electrical system...its possible
your alternator could be slowly going out. get that tested

as for the let your car sit, that's almost normal as the car gets older. There's a one way check valve in your fuel pump that keeps pressure in your line when the pump isn't running. as the car gets older, that valve fails. It's nothing catastrophic but it's not really good either.

Next time your out driving, keep it in the next gear up and go WOT at low rpms... I'm guessing it might be a spark misfire issue, but we need more information

^ok i will try the WOT thing. also i had the air conditioner on. think that might have something to do with it? i mean the ac cuts back on power a considerable amount, but the car had never done anyting like that. If it is a misfire tho, shouldnt i be throwing a code?

Do you think its time to look into a new fuel pump?

no. your fuel pump should be fine... My valve is bad in mine... only thing that it'll cause is an extended crank if the car sits for a long period of time.

A/C shouldn't draw that much power... I don't htink that's an issue here.

when was the last tune up you did? before I did a tune up (cap/rotor/plugs/wires) my car would misfire at WOT in low rmp. At first I thought it was a problem with the dizzy, but after a tune up it was fine.

Plugs were done like i wanna say 12k mi ago. Maybe its time for new ones... But i have never done a FULL tune up in the 15k i have driven the car.

That's what I'm saying... Might be the wires just cutting out on you.

Pull the plugs, make sure they're in spec

Especially if they are original plugs. They definately need to be changed. My bro had the original plugs in his LS. Swapped them for NGK Iridium plugs (awesome). Still needs some wires and suposedly this guy is going to give him an MSD distributor cap. (aren't they like $400!?!)

no, an MSD cap is about $40-$50. you need to run an external coil to use it. stock honda ignition system is great, I've seen 600+hp honda motors with an OEM cap/rotor. the external coil is going to cost more than the cap. and now, everytime you want to change the cap, you need to buy the MSD cap.

and I recommend that you do a full tune up.

Wait... What?
just the box is like 50 the whole ignition could be that much depending on where you got it
