possible tie rod?

My front tires are balding WAY to fast. The right one more then the left. Steering wheel shakes a lot and my car sways all over the road. The right tire started to wear just on the inside. But now on the outside as well. That would be my tie rod correct? I can work on cars. So I don't plan on taking it to the shop I just have a problem diagnosing the problem

Get an alignment

jack the car up and see if the wheels wiggle left and right. if it wiggles up and down too, its the wheel bearing.

Like he said, jack the car up, put it on jack stands(very important) and try to wiggle the wheel left to right as if you were trying to steer it with your hand. If it has any play try to wiggle it top to bottom. If it has play no matter where you wiggle it from it is your wheel bearing. If it only has play left to right then it is your tie rods. If it has no play in any direction you need to get new tires, get them properly balanced and have it aligned. Regardless...you'll need need tires and an alignment anyways.
