Plastidip instead of paint

Well It has come that time to find a new color. Forest green is too dark and they never put the flex additive in the bumpers so those are cracking like a son of a gun.

I'm thinking about plastidipping gunmetal with the metallic clear. Anybody seen this combo done? I hate the gunmetal itself looks like primer. With the other metallic spray I think it might be alright though.

Any other suggestions?

I'd get the kit with sprayer and plastidip by the gallon..I went through one can just on my window trim back when I painted it black

basically, i like fast!
Haha I like this stuff. Theres a video on youtube I saw of a guy peeling it off the roof of his car. It looked good probably cause he seemed to be pulling off a whole floor of plastic haha. It'll look good if you do it right. Theres a car kit just for whole cars.

If you go to dipyourcar, they have a glossifier you can spray over the plastidip to make it shine.

They are way over priced... buy the sprayer at home depot and gallons of it offline. They only thing is you will have to thin it out yourself with F740 Thinner, naphtha, xylene(what i used for a project), or toluene.

Also you will need a catch can if you use a spray gun like:

...if not you will spray condensation beads all over they place it looks like straight poop

Also the glossifier is just a clear coat... much cheaper to buy a gallon of it instead of going through dipmycar

More work and thinking but cheaper in the long run
