I'm trying to install my pioneer head unit. I'm pretty confident I have all the wires hooked up properly but for some reason the unit wont power up when I start the car.

For some reason the pic wont disply, heres the direct link http://img404.imageshack.us/i/wiringi.png/
Thats how I have it wired, the left end goes into the pioneer unit and the right into the car.
I have all the colours matched up except I there is one coming from the head unit (yellow w/ black stripe) that does not have one to match up with

Thanks for the help :D

Did you have a different aftermarket radio in there previously? With a different harness?

yeah lots of times you cant just match up colors, go online and find a schematic for what wire in the car goes to what, and look on the cd player and see what wire means what and then match up wires like that.

do you have a picture of the deck itself? on the bottom side of the reciever is a chart that should help you..its either the red, yellow, or orange/blue(cant remember) that cause it not to illuminate...are you getting sound out of it and no screen or is it completely powerless?

Thanks for all the replies

there is no schematic on the head unit, its a deh-5900IB Pioneer

There was a JVC stereo in before I took that out. I am ussing the wiring harness that was hooked up with that hoping it would work for my pioneer. Maybe that could be the problem?

This is the other harness i had. It didn't work. Just so you can get a picture of what it looks like. It almost seems as if the harness that your trying to use right now is not he right one.
