I was wondering what types of other cars I could use parts from for my 88 integer ls. I go to the junk yard and stuff and they have lots of Japanese cars. I was wondering what would fit on a D16a1 Engine.

so does it have to be exactly 1.6l or can it be like any kind

Depends on which A1 you have.. black top is electronic advance(88,89) brown top is vacuum dvance(86,87)
Typical stuff fits from other d series. Things like rods, pistons, some alternators/ starters/ distributors/ etc..
Anything head wise though wont because the d16a1 is the only dual cam D series. a dohc zc though IS the Japanese equivalent of the d16a1 but with a little more aggressive cams and slightly bigger pistons. But the parts are harder to find
