painting rear panels black

well today i removed out the rear seats and was thinking of painting the 2 rear panels and trunk panel black....anybody done this and if so what specific paint do i use? any prep tips? post pix of it if u had it done...i figure itll be easier then finding and buying the panels, all the panels i see are all scraped up

I just completed my interior swap and I had to paint a few pieces. I had only planned on doing it temporarily, but it turned out pretty good. I went to sherwin williams and picked up some adhesion promoter, and flat black spray paint. I just washed the surface really good and used one light coat of the adhesion promoter and sprayed two coats of paint. I'll try to send you some pics if you want.

I bought the dash. like I said I bought a complete black and grey interior. It was missing the passenger's side window switch trim. So I painted that and was please with how well it turned out. Then I painted a few of the grey pieces black, they turned out good as well. I'm away from home right now, I'll post some pics a little later for you.

i did mine blue. i used duplicolor for plastics. worked really good, i just scuffed it up and sprayed tehy say u dont need to prime it or anything too. but my boy is using this stuff called EMS i think and he said thats the paint they use when they do they panels from the factory. i saw his panels and they look really good, just like stock and i think its about $7 a can

what did u do with the vin # from the old dash? did u pry out your vin and glue it on or something or just left it as is?....im about to get a dash for % great deal but its got a nice scuff mark that im sure can be repaired

sorry I keep forgeting to post those pics. ill try to tomorrow. it will look good though. i didnt worry about the vin. i was going to switch them, but forgot until i finished putting the new dash in. Then I just said f*** it.

the guy im buying the dash from said it dont have the harness...correct me if im wrong but that shouldnt bea problem right? considering im gonna use my harness. if i do put it in ill probably rip the vin off anyways, (forgot to ask if he has papers for the vin)
