welcome to ci, if you buy another color gsr ,if you paint the engine bay and door jams and hatch area, no on will ever know the orginal color unless they look at the VIN. and lets face it they shouldnt be looking for your VIN #,haha

another choice is buy a LS or GS(cheaper than a gsr) put the extra money you saved towards a motor/trans swap. Install a b18bc5 and gsr trans(if you dint know) and than your have your "gsr" ..

Which option would be cheaper? and if i were to get a ls would i have to get the gsr motor and the tranny separately? thanks for the help !

Yes you would have to get the motor and trans seperate. As for what is cheaper, depends on the price of the cars. If you can find a black ls for $2k and get a gsr motor, trans, ecu, and gsr cluster (if you want it) for $1k then it would possibly be cheaper. You could also look for a rolling chassis that needs a motor and trans.

Your welcome. I have no clue what the differences are. Maybe the longblock is bigger.

short block doesnt have the head. its just the bottom end.
Long block has top and bottom end. The name is a little deceiving.
