P61 Vtec Valve Cover? DB2?

Were P61 Valve Covers off of DB2's?

I have one and even though I don't have a B17 I think it would be cool if I have an actual authentic rare valve cover =D

It looks the same as my GSR P72 cover, but it technically would still be a "B17" Valve Cover.

I might sell it later on and it would be a nice addition for someone that has a DB2. :)
Will soon be painted wrinkle red. (will be minty)
The old wrinkle black was dying and was neglected by the previous owner that had it on a B16.

Ironically if this is a B17 valve cover it would have been installed on the following.
B16A, B17A1, B18C1.

The history these thing carry. LMAO

That's what my question is.

Valve Covers have a stamp underneath and one of mine is stamped P61.
We're P61 Valve Covers off of B17's?

I googled and found mixed answers.

x2...they are all the same cover
Not true.

USDM Integra's don't have the H symbol and have DOHC bigger than Vtec.
It also says Honda Motor Co. on the bottom.
USDM ones "I'm assuming they were stamped P61 and P72 along with the diff of the USDM"
P61 = USDM B17 with the USDM Difference.
Idk what stamp the ITR has.
The USDM ITR has the same differences.

Where as JDM vehicles have variations of Vtec and DOHC being larger depending on the year of the engine. The JDM Valve Cover also has a large H on it and says Honda on the lower portion.

They are in fact the same valve cover cast, but with a different style. :)

Heres pics of the differences.
All Valve Covers had a stamp.
There is one RARE cover I cannot find any info on. I think it's a super old valve cover that has no moldings.
It says DOHC and Vtec and has the H. I suspect it to be a JDM one that is OBD0, but I have only ever seen one.
It looks weirddd

The 92-01 USDM GSR & 97-01 USDM ITR had the same looking valve cover except for the stamp from the DB2 and DC2. The stamp and color for the ITR.
USDM Integras Incl. ITR (Not sure about SI's and Del Sols with B16's they might be the same as OBD1-2 JDM ones)

OBD0 JDM (CANNOT BE ITR)

OBD1 & 2 JDM (Including ALL JDM ITR)

Im asking the question for the P61 stamp.
(It would be nice to know what I'm wrong about instead of just claiming I'm wrong)

Show me a USDM Integra that has an H Symbol when it was stock.
Any Integra that has a stock Vtec USDM engine.

Now do the opposite for the JDM Engines. Even though I'm not 100% about the JDM, but I've never seen it from a stock engine aside from the Mugen P61 valve covers that had the Mugen Sports Logo. Also, the OBD0 B16's we're weird. They had differences from both.

This is the example of the JDM OBD0
Bigger DOHC <--- USDM Tegs & JDM OBD0 B16
Small Vtec <--- USDM Tegs & JDM OBD0 B16
H Symbol <--- JDM (Im guessing unless also Civic Si or Del Sol w/ USDM B16)
Honda Motor Co. <--- USDM Tegs & JDM OBD0 B16

NOTE: Sometimes sellers post the same pic for multiple engines. Sometimes they put the OBD0 for OBD1-2 and vice versa.

any other brain busters?

i know honda valve covers
Why don't you clear things up then instead of being a dick about it. :thumbdown
I know you know your valve covers.

(If you notice you just said the same exact thing I just said.)

Except. That Valve Cover could be a B18C. Am I wrong?

If you take a a JDM ITR, B18C (SIR-G), and B16 OBD1-2 cove & stripped them down W/o paint.
How could you tell the difference? Other than the Stamp.

then to answer your question

all usdm gsr valve covers from 92-01 are exactly the same minus the stamp difference....p61 vs p72

only difference in the 92-01 jdm covers is that vtec is in large letters and dohc is in small lettering. Still the same with the casting stamp.

That is what I said bro and you're giving me poop about it.

Flashback:

It also says Honda Motor Co. on the bottom...

GSR and ITR are the same except the color 92-01 and stamps.

as far as the 1.8l they both say "honda motor company" across the bottom
edit...forgot to say usdms

the itr would be stamped p73

the gsr p72

now with exception of the obd0 b16s all others only say "Honda" instead of "honda motor company"

and would be stamped p30.
