My car's been overheating when I drive stop and go traffic.. today I spent the day trying to figure out what it was:
I shortcircuited the rad. fan switch, and the fan spun when ignition was on. Then a friend told me that the coolant temperature sensor wasnt working, so I respliced the cap that goes over the sensor.. no change after driving, still ended up overheating. I thought it might've been the thermostat, but the upper and lower radiator hoses are both warm/hot after driving.
what else can I check easily? I'm leaning towards the switch not letting the current flow, to power the fan. could that be it?
