oil smell problem!!

ever since i took off my valve cover to paint it my 93 integra started to smell like oil..the smell is in the inside of my car like at first its obvious its gona smelll like paint cuz its fresh but then i started getting this paint/oil smell..i tripped out so checked it n i dnt see no oil leaking..i thot it was gona be the head gasket or sumthing but no signs of leaks..ive taken off the valve cover before and everything was perfect..but yet NOW i noticed some little oil like on the valve cover spark plug hole...ne 1 kno wat i did wrong ?? :???:

Did you replace the gaskets with new ones? People typically overlook the spark plug tube seals, and they get hard and lose the ability to form a nice seal and let oil leak past and down to the spark plugs.

Did you paint the vc with it on the motor or did you take it off? I don't know why you would smell paint fumes, they should be long gone.

i took it off..but i open my hood and smell it and it wouldnt smell ima check my oil pan gasket it mite leak cuz to be honest idk where the smell is coming from i suggested it came frm thhe vc cuz i took it off...
