i am curious if i take the oil sending unit out and replace it with a maunual unit will this effect the vtec engagement. guess i am just curious if the vtec engages off of the oil pressure its self or if the sending unit has to send a reading to the computer first. thanks

so if you take out the sending u will not get oil pressure to lock in the rocker arms to run ur valves open for longer

thanks for the help on that so i guess the sending unit sends a signal to the ecu when enough oil pressure is available to engage the solenoid??

no the ecu send a sig to the vtec selinoid opening the flow of oil/oil presure to lock the rocker arms all together in the head. then the valves all run on the vtec lobe on the cams opening the valves for a longer time
