oil passages

ok so i just lost a rod bearing for an unknown reason on a fresh rebuild so im buying a new crank and set of bearings. but i want to check and make sure none of the passages to the blocked and are clear. how exacly could i do that and how does the oil get to the rod journals

Your rods were probably out of round, either that or you installed the rod caps wrong. They must be installed exactly how they came off or you will lose a bearing. There should be half a number on each rod. Having a machine shop do some work to your rods would have been a good idea.

You can see holes where the bearings go, just make sure they are clear. Clean it out if needed.
