i've been gone for awhile, a lot has happened..

my beloved db7 was violated, recovered, went through physical therapy and is doing well again..

i decided to move on though, but not straying too far..

you know, it runs surprisingly smooth at 204k miles.. i was really surprised. previous owner took it to the acura dealer for maintenance.

it has its dents and issues though, minor things here and there.

now, I have nothing to compare it to really, but the previous owner said that the motor is a little tired and not as good as it use to be, but it's still a honda motor so you know it's reliable..

i plan on doing a full rebuild on it though, so i'm not too worried.

the biggest concern was that the A/C doesn't work, a common problem with RSX's it seems. i've checked the pressure and it's high on the low side lines with A/C on, so it could be the compressor or the clutch as i've checked all fuses and relays and the DTC test comes back with no issues. still need to jack it up and check to see if the clutch is engaging when A/C is turned on.

all in all i'm happy.. it's much faster than the db7 automatic haha.. good to have a manual back especially one with a 6 speed gear box.

Try completely bleeding the high side and vacuum out the moisture. Then recharge the low side.

If the highside has too much pressure the ac will not run it's duty cycle. Just repeatedly turns on and off.

If moisture got to the compressor it's toast. If that is the case, also replace the dryer. It can only hold so much water until it let's it pass by.

I checked the high side pressure and it's low, so my guess is compressor or clutch.

welcome back
thanks!

yeah, if i change out the compressor i'll have to check the lines to see if there's anything in there, if there is you have to change out the expansion valve, evap core, condenser also depending.

Yes!

Welcome back pimp.

Let me see. Chicks love a/c and I love chicks. Does that mean that I love a/c? (thinking) lol.....

i love chicks and i love A/C = win + win

either way.. i'm running into an issue guys..
whenever i smash in 3rd to redline it seems to throw code 22
VTEC System Malfunction (VTEC Oil Pressure Sensor) and goes into limp mode (4k RPM limit) until ECU is reset
I've changed the oil and filter and put in 5 quarts mobile1 5w/30 and engine oil levels seem okay, maybe a llittle low, but nothing serious..

do you think it's the VTEC Oil Pressure Switch that's bad? or VTEC Solenoid?

I've never owned a VTEC Honda engine before so sorry for the noob questions.. haha

i'll try adding more oil in the mean time..
