I have a 97 ls turbo automatic before I bought the car the tranny was already replace I know its not the best but its all I have right now and I have no problems with it. I already have an fmu safc II and 310 cc injectors im running 6-8 lbs and the car will move lol.. but I do want to raise the rev limit and delete some codes thrown and of course enjoy the superb tuning oppurtunities. I've been told through research that u can't put a chipped obd1 computer on a obd2 auto car why is this? I know it works for manuals .. replies would be appreciated

The answer is both yes and no. The obd1 automatic ecu can be chipped. Unfortunatly, Both Hondata and I believe chrome dont support automatics (I've heard chrome will, but never have seen any proof). There are plenty of chipped auto integras-the main problem is finding someone that can tune for you. 1st off, raising rev limit in your car would be a bad idea on a stock head, unless you want to run ti springs and retainers. 2nd (and my biggest complaint about hondata and people that think it's the greatest thing) eliminating codes by masking them is never good. You should be able to tune your car with your current setup and throw min codes, if any. THeres a reason your car throws them-it doesnt like what's going one. I considered the "chipping" method a long time ago, but finding someone in the area that was reliable on tuning wasnt an option. If your really serious about it, do some more research.

Pretty much^

So you bought it that way? If you built it, I would have had some questions for you about the turbo as I'm looking to do the same to my autotragic

Not a fan of fmu's but they do work. Just out of curiousity, do you have a wideband? People knock safc's, but a lot of DSM guys love them. I love the ease of use, and abitly to make adjustments while driving-all while remaining obd2 and without cel. If you dont have a wideband, get one. Tuning with an afc and no wideband is spelling disastor. basically everytime you make adjusments with it you are changing the igintiion. Adding fuel will retard the ignition and leaning out will advance it (very bad while boosting). Best of luck, and it can be done as lots of peeps have gone this route. I suggest time, patience, and a dyno if possible.

because dsm guys are cheap.... safc's lie to the ecu and will more often then not screw up the timing. you can't adjust injector pulse-width either. i hate them almost as much as i hate fmu's... yes i have used an safc before on a boosted setup. it sucked. to each his own. timing is one of those things you really don't want to go wrong on a boosted setup.

You can use a chipped OBD1 Chipped ECU. I'm running one (Xenocron) on my OBD2 Automatic. The only tuning options that I know on top of my head that will adapt to the Automatic are Greddy Ultimate, eCtune, Chrome maybe Neptune. Not sure with MoTech, etc.

I'm running eCtune on my chipped JDM P30 (B16 Automatic). I know another turbo B16 Civic Automatic running eCtune that I was talking for awhile. I decided to do with eCtune.

I found (2) tuners on the east coast one in PA and the other in NY. These are the only (2) shop that have any experience with eCtune and tuning on Automatic.

You need to find a OBD2 to OBD1 automatic jumper harness or get one custom made. I had mine custom made from my engine builder.
