not another turbo ls question

OK so i have decided to go turbo on my ls blah blah blah it will be a slow process but iv'e done my research and know what is needed. My question is more for the integra turbo owners, how does the car handle i.e. daily driving, from a take off, on the interstate and city roads. I have driven my friends turbo evo and another friends turbo golf . Both cars seemed to have a BIG surge in power when boost hit. I will be using the super 60 turbo so if any of you would like to chime in i would appreciated it. I just don't want that feeling of normal driving and all of the sudden POWER! lol i would like constant power until i have to smash on it. Thanks for the info

That's characteristic to pretty much every turbo car. Its not as bad with smaller turbo chargers bc they spool quicker and the difference in flow from low to high boost isnt astronomical like you have with larger turbo chargers. You can also improve the torque surge with boost controllers and run progressive boost maps so its not so sudden. If you want super linear power look at centrifugal superchargers.

I like how u researched and have a direct/specific question. I, however, am not a turbo guy.

However, as ^^^ he said, one of the differences in turbo charged and cent. Super charge is that super charger provide constant boost all over the rpm band, where as turbo spools. But people like turbo for the whistle, that SC lacks.

Then again, maybe im talking out of my ass lol

Thanks i will look into a centrifugal supercharger. Yeah the pull on my friends golf was really bad and i want to avoid that. I never really thought about super charging but that would be constant power.

Thanks, yeah i do like the turbo for the ability to make more power if i decide i want later (Which is more than likely to happen) I am not a big fan of the blow off sound i dont like the attention but i love force induction and my integra.

You have alot of options and more research to do. You can recirculate the blow off valve which cuts down on the sound significantly. Its also not very loud unless boosting alot, which you wont be.

Whats really the goal here? Are you looking for a mild bump or do you plan to race?

The plan is to be a " now and than "driver often but not every day as i do now switch between two cars. I'm wanting 250 whp for now on around 9psi. What i was told and seen graphs the super 60 gives good full boost at around 3k on the b18b. I hate driving on the interstate to work in both cars (Austin traffic) so my main goal is to have a nice peak in power when i need to get out of the way of the 18 wheelers. I really like the super 60 like i said it shows a very nice power curve and i have a company in the area that just does turbos and tunning so i'm set for a good tune.I want to keep the door open for more in the future if i decide i need more. i do plan on a rebuild and head work for better flow. so im setting up early on for more power later.
