is this kit safe to use on a stock b18c with 58k miles? its the wet system so i know its better than the dry system. is a 75 shot too much?
I think a lot of people make it seem like it is a lot more difficult install than what it is. The 2 things that will make installing it a hell of a lot easier are proper planning, and enusring that you have evrything you need. In addition to the kit, there are a few things that I would purchase extra. The first thing I would get would be a 20 amp fuse and housing, that way the n20 setup is on a seperate line from anything else. Make sure to have lots of wire, and make sure to get 2 differnet colors. RUle of thumb, thicker is better. Also, get a couple of feet of hose for the fuel line, the one in the kit is ussually not long enough. Make sure that it is ahigh pressure line. I would also get a good T-ftting for splicing into the fuel line ( the one in the nx kit sucked). Make sure to have lots of the adjustable clamps handy, for the fuel lines. Alson, lots of teflon paste. As for installing, you have to plan on where you wnat to mount everything. Depending on how long your steel braided line is, will determine where you should mount the bottle. You'll have to pull part of the interior apart to run the line. Probably the easist way to mount the spray nozzel on the intake is to drill and tap your intake. If tapping is out of the question, go to the hardware store and just get a nut with the same thread pattern is the nozzle. Just drill you intake and jb weld the nut on. That way you can just thread the nozzle in place. Use lots of teflon paste. Where you mark the soelnoids is completely up to you. Just make sure they are near the intake and the main line. This is where planning is important. Mount your solenoids and hook up the braided lines -lots of teflon paste. As for the fuel line, you just have to pull it off, and cut it in half. Attach the T fitting, and run a hose of the third bund up to the fuel solenoid. Make sure all clamps are tight (I had a fuel line blow off which sucked cuase I had to repair it in the pitch black on the side of the freeway-using my cellphone as a light). Wiring up the system is super easy. Each solenoid has 2 wires, a ground and a power. Run the ground wires to the chasis. For the power wires, run a 20amp brake off the battery to inside the car. This gets mounted to the arming switch that runs to the ariming button, or back in the engine compartment to a tps or wot switch. Take the 2 power wires off botht solenoids and splice together-run a wire form the to the arming button (or tps/wot switch). Basically thats it for the install. Make sure to switch to a colder plug and fill up with 93 octane. If you can do that, hooking up a purge valve, bottle warmer, or pressure gauge are simple. As for paying someone, it would probably run you at least $200-$300. Good luck.
