Hey ppl wuz good , noob here but learning quick, my car just failed inspection due to emissions most likey its the cat cuz i can hear a faint rattle in idle or when im driving it more noticeable , just wanted to check any recommendations

x2. if you failed you might have a few possibilities. very well could be your cat, especially if you have a lot of miles. it also could be an o2 censor(or miltiple). have you disconnected the battery within the last 100 or so miles? if so then it will fail because the computer has to reset. those are soem options. also you may be misfiring, when was the last time it had a full tune up? plugs, wires, cap, rotor etc... obd1 or 2? if its obd1 you may be able to pass if you try a bottle of octane booster or those guanteeds pass formulas. (dont know if those work great but i have heard they work) best thing, get a friend who does emissions... :lol: then your guarnteed to pass...

i have the same problem, yesterday i had a new cat installed,an 02 sensor, and a thermostat so the check engine light is off, but i still failed. the guys at the shop told me that because i was driving without an 02 sensor & thermostat for so long that my car isn't used running on the correct fuel mixture, and they said to drive the shit out of it real hard for the weekend and try again monday. anyway i've always had the "A" pipe rattle but now it seems to kinda always rattle before 3600rmp. MY CAR HATES ME!!!
