Hey guys

Don't have a Integra yet... looking at this GSR and thinking MAYBE.

But basicly since the car is used, looking for ideas on how to go best about it from Integra owners

tear the engine down or get a rebuilt one, if i get a rebuild one might as well get a LS no?

I'm sure there are plenty of posts on issues like this but its way to many posts and way to many pages :lol: so any help here would be much appreciated...

IMO... u gotta go with the best of the best... well.. in this case 2nd best cause the type r is kinda pricey. GS-R.... you'd love it. it has that extra kick but then again... there are lots of very cheap LS's... so iono... depends on what you find first in the classifieds.

yea if i had tha money id buy a gsr....... but if i got a gsr then id want sum stage 2 cams so i can hear vtec pop... but if i did that id need springs and retainers.... but if i had a gsr id really want lsd tranny............but i dont hav tha money so fudge :(

why would you want to tear the engine down? a honda motor really shouldnt need a rebuild unless its insame miles or just beat on. and the "mine as well get a ls" comment?? your looking at a gsr. the ls is the lowest grade moter the integras came with (B18B). if your doing a motor swap (for some reason sounds like you are) get a type-r motor (B18C5), i think you could afford it seeing u have a modded is and all. but welcome to the boards. when looking for a used teg some things to look for include;
-gear syncros (usually 3rd)
-water in trunk (taillight or drain tube)
-dissy (rpm bounce, various check lights)
-radiator leak (between metal and plastic connection)
-cam seal oil leak
-vtec ingaugement oil burn
- these are just the things that can be crutial to look for.(might have missed some)

welcome to ci...i agree with speedin, no need to change a gsr motor out, i would say find one that says hey i have everything you want, buy me!!!!!!

haha once my motor is done, instead of Get DOHC VTEC Im getting FUCK VTEC to piss people off hahaa
