hi guys, i just joined CI and I have a question.

I am about to buy a 1998 integra gs, 4 door auto...and is it true that the gs/ auto tranny/ 4 door doesnt come with vtec? since it doesn't come with it, is it a lot weaker? is the car worth getting? 103k, $3500

The only 3rd generation (94-01) Integra's that have VTEC are GSR's and Type R's.
All the others have a B18B engine, which is 142 HP. It's a DOHC 1.8L. GSR's are 170 HP, R's are 195 HP.
You can look up the value of that car at www.kbb.com

Eh...it's an automatic, but if there's really nothing wrong with it that's a good price.

Ask when was the last time the timing belt / water pump was replaced. Ask when the last time the spark plugs & wires, air filter, etc. was replaced. Check for leaks, rust, etc. Ask if they have the maintence records. Also, get a carfax report on the car.

Good luck and hopefully you become a member of the CI family! 8)

yeah, he gave me a carfax..and i also did my own autocheck.com thing..both checked out. He told me that the car had the 90,000 miles maintenence done at an acura dealer, and he has the receipt. He did say I prolly have to change the timing belt and the 4 tires. Im prolly gonna change the engine oil and tranny oil as well, as I rather be safe than sorry. haha
