noob needs help

Prior to stating the help I need I would just like to say that I apologize in advance for any noob/obvious questions ( should they arise...most likely ) due to the fact that I am not a Acura/Honda person. I am however, the new owner of a 1991 Integra LS w/automatic transmission and a CEL code of 9 & 12.

I have confirmed that the CEL code 9 is a distributor issue ( specifically a sensor of some sort....CYP/CYK....something like that ) and that I would need a new distributor. What I need help on is:

A) would it matter if the distributor that I am getting is for a 5 speed or automatic?

B) would any other distributor work for this vehicle ( since I'm asking this, I hope it's quite obvious that im short on cash )

to your second question, I think it pretty obvious that the answer is no. Not only you won´t be able to secure it properly, but the dimensions and general positioning won´t make it possible. Were you thinking you could use one from a chevy or ford? or a Honda? There may (I doubt it) a honda model that uses one exactly like it, but being short on cash is irrelevant. A distributor won´t cost less for being for a different car. I don´t think OEM integra parts are expensive or hard to find. Just shop around and you´ll find what you need. Good luck!

Any OBD0 B series distributor will work. If you get an OBD1 or 2, you'll have to repin or re wire it some to connect all the proper wires.
