Noob - 1999 Integra LS Type R 4dr ---Chrome Trimming Question

Hey everyone.. I'm a CI noob and Integra noob, but I've been doing my research :google: .. I just bought a DB7.. 1999 Integra LS 4dr on steelies (not the rims on the picture)..

got some buddy club p1s in my garage so i intend to paint it either championship white.. taffeta white.. or desert metallic mist.. (color suggestions would be helpful too.. post your DB7 ITR pictures!).. :D

but anyways, the rear door trimmings have chrome on them and all the other modified DB7s i've seen have black trimmings.. any suggestions on how to change them to black? are there black trimmings I can just swap out or should i just paint it when i paint the whole car? :roll: THANKS!

ten bucks says that is a stick on chrome kit bro. tear it off.

..it totally bugs me.. i want it straight black.. or like AcurInteg96 said... (even though i'm a girl)... i'd tear it off as long as it was ok too.. jus wanted some pro advice..

oh my bad. my apologies. but most of that stuff is just stick on. so if you take it off it should still have the original piece under it. you may need to use goo of to get any left over stickiness.

ive actually seen DB's with the chrome trimming, im sure they come standard with some models.

Figure out if its a stick on or not. If it isnt, take the trim off, clean it and scuff it up, and paint it.

Look at JDMDB8's (Matts) pictures. You can see the paint wearing off and turning "chrome". Its just painted metal.

it appears that the chrome runs on both doors from front to back so im pretty certain that it came like that but ya, just take them off, scuff them with scotch brite and paint them with flat black paint.

i checked and its not one of those stick ons haha.. thats why it kinda surprised to see all the mod integs with black trimming.. guess im the unlucky one... ill paint em black.. thanks!
