No More Boost, What The Hell

so this past weekend, i was just merging into traffic, and i lost all my boost. When i took a closer look this is what happened:



turns out these belt only last between 5K and 10K miles. I got 8k out of mine. tried to replace the belt yesterday, but every belt i got was too big. had to order the belt off the Jackson website. this friday ill be boosted again.

how long does it take to change the belt and is it a pain? and were u still able to drive fine on no boost?

they cost around 10 bucks. not too big of a pain, gotta take my wheel off, figure out how to get my alternator belt off, then figure out how to get both belts back on.

gotta find instructions, or im gonna call jackson. im planning on spending like 2 hours on it.

my timing is only retarded 1 degree before top dead center. so it is pretty sluggish. not to mention i have the scrolls of the blower just chillin now and getting in the way of the air flow. but yes i can drive it. it sucks but it can be done. :roll:

on the upside of things i get better gas milage now :D

jackson racing says thebelt should be changed every 20k...? 5k-10k sux if thats the case

Well as for getting it on, I'm guessing it goes around the tensioner so you could take some pressure off of it and slip it on.

I wish it was that easy. First the alternator only moves up and down. i have to lower it then slip off the alternator belt. loosen the idler pulleys slip on the new belt, tighten the idler, then tighten the alternator. kinda a pain.
