New project car

Hey guys, I guess im starting out as a newbie again. I'm on a couple other car forums but this will be my first forum dealing with imports as this will be my first import car. I am probably going to be picking up this 96 gs-r tomorrow. It has around 150000 miles on it. Do you guys think it is a good idea to start doing bolt ons with this engine or should I look to do an engine swap before I start moding. Thanks

how much power do you want to make? turbo? supercharger? n/a?

I would definitely at some point want to do a turbo setup. I would like to see around 300 hp to the wheels, but I was thinking that I would first spend a while on the suspension and building up the engine. I honestly dont know how these engines handle boost, but I assume that anywhere past 10-12 psi that I would have to start reinforcing what ever the weak parts of the engine are to handle it. I guess I want to know if its worth keeping the engine or should I look to swap. Correct me if I am ever off base about anything as I know very little about these b series engines.
