Waddup everyone,

I jus acquired a 94 Integra from a family member today. It needs a water pump, and I would like to do it myself. I gotta kinda build it up by January because I will be trading cars with that family member. He told me he knows it needs a water pump, but other than that it runs. 1st Question is how much does a water pump cost, and is it kinda easy to do yourself? And next is that it is an automatic :thumbdown and I would like to swap in a 5-speed. The motor is the base 1.8L 142hp motor. Can anyone help me out? Hope this forum is good cuz i get tired of these places quick lol Im only here for info and no drama!!

Peace,

Brando

those two sites are good for getting parts, new from factory. you may try a auto dismantler as well, i know here in sacramento we have a place called recycle road where they all are. and as far as the water pump goes...im not sure how hard it is to do but it shouldnt be too hard i recomend getting a chilton or a haynes manual...they are very good.

and the automatic to manual conversion, (correct me if im wrong) all you need is the manual transmission and you can choose from the b18b (ls) b18c1 (gs-r) b18c5 (type-r) and the b18 (civic si) tranny. and you need the center consol thing with the shift boot, cut a hole for the clutch and clutch lines maybe a new cluster. i think thats all

Installing a water pump isn't that easy to install on these cars. Buy a repair manual first to see what's involved. There are specialty tools you will probably need to do the job.

yeah that is true, check the rapair manual first in like auto zone or something...then if it looks too hard just do dealership repair man

Ok sounds good. The GS-R tranny would prolly be good down the road, when I decide to add more power. If the water pump is gonna be a moderate to difficult job, then I will probably jus have someone put it in for me. I jus try to save money, and learn how to do as much as i can ya know?

Oh so there's no difference in how much hp they can handle? Just a difference in RPM's? Thanx for the welcome genesis. I hate Dodges!! Chevy fan all the way, but im a car enthusiast and like a lil bit of everything ya kno?

welllllllllll... yes and no. your speed and hp are more harnessed through the gs-r tranny because it has shorter gears and will climb through the gears fasster. your redline is governed by your ECU and can be extended by chipping it with a hondata or something. a tranny for the B18's basicaly changes your driving style in short, if you want something that will give you mad power use the ones made for gs-r and type-r where as the LS is made for just daily driving and cruising.

Oh I see. Yea im trying to achieve a performance/luxury balance. Im goin to make the interior comfortable and kind plush, and on the outside im gonna keep it simple. No bodykits and huge wings. And then i want some mild performance to make it real fun to drive. So sounds like the gsr tranny is the way to go. Now I gotta find one lol

Well im not gonna get that into it. lol. I never heard of the GSR to tell you the truth. I thought all i ever heard wasType-R/ I like this generation Integra and really dont like that RSX. This is gonna be my first project car so im takin it easy. it will be nice!! I'll post pics as im workin on it. By the way the car is a white 2 door ls or gs or watever (Japanese cars have too many trim levels for me to keep up with lol). Excuse my ignorance lol. It's an Automatic wit the 1.8l 142hp motor. No spoiler no nuthin lol. In fact I'll prolly take the hubcaps off and run steelies til i get rims cuz i hate hubcaps lol Thanx for the welcomes, good lookin out on the advice, and hopefully I can make this car into somethin pretty nice.
