New Guy with some Idle questions

Hello everyone,

I just picked up my first Integra, its a 93 LS 5 speed and I have a question about an idle issue. It starts up fine, idles pretty good until it gets to normal operating temp. Then it starts to rough idle, it drops in idle and fluctuates. Since I just got it, I replaced the cap/rotor/plugs. When I disconnect the TPS, it really idles low but doesnt die. It gradually revs back up and stays steady for a little bit but then goes back to rough idle. It smells like its running rich. I just dont want to start replacing things without really knowing what the common failures are on these cars. I would really appreciate some help/suggestions. Thanx everyone...

rich smell at operating temps may be a failing o2 sensor. That could impact Idle fluctuation...

I'd also advise you to pull out the Idle Air Control Valve ( back of the intake manifold) and give that a good cleaning with some carb cleaner.
