well, when the time comes, i am going to swap a new motor in the teggy, but im thinking of just getting the 1.7 that comes in the GSR (i believe, right?) just to get the vtec, going to keep it simple lol i may just swap another B18A1 in it lol i did find a B18C on ebay for like 4k, basically straight taken out of a car lol little pricey in my opinion.. thoughts? maybe a B20 vtec? ive searched for those but i keep coming up with non-vtec B20's..

Ok to answer all your questions at once...
Yea the b17 is out of a 92-93 Gsr
They are harder to find then other vtec motors. Your better off getting a Gsr of b16.
4k is way to much for a motor unless it's fully built.
U have to build the b20 vtec. A b20 is a non vtec motor and u have to put a vtec head on it. It won't just bolt on the u would have to get an ls/vtec kit and do a lil work to get it together.
IMO u should just buy a b16 or Gsr and swap it in. U will also need to get a vtec ecu or get yours chipped. U should try using google or something before u try getting into something u clearly have researched.

no no, my plan later on is to get a new engine, im just poking around trying to think of what to drop in the car next after the B18A1 fizzes out.. i figure its still got at lease another 100k miles left in it. lol its only at 139k.. thats like just breaking it in..
i know ill have to chip my car and everything.. the ECU im getting for when i boost my motor now, is going to have hondata s300 on it, and ill have to get a OBD0 to OBD1 harness, and a 3bar map. so that is partly taken care of. i think ill go with the B18C. ill hit up JDM engine depot or something, since nobody around here has any 4cyl motors, they only sell/trade V8's. nobody around where i live at has anything like what im looking for. yeah the B18C i found on ebay is built, no mods at all. comes with transmission too. like i said in first post, it looks like it was just pulled out of the car, and set on a pallet lol. question is, i dunno how many miles are on it.. ill peep around some more. im going to go with the B18C. that was the engine i like more anyway lol
