I have a 96 LS my tach was acting up and then wasnt getting spark, so i bought a brand new OEM distributor, Put it in and it was running fine.
Last night i went to move it and it would start then instantly die, after 3 tries it started fine. Then today I was driving home and I watched my tach bounce around when I was just cruising (1k-2.5K)
What else would be causing this?

fuel pump would have nothing to do with it. Something between the distributor and the cluster is not grounded or is pinched.

^I agree. Try even just checking the dis itself to make sure its making a good connection everywhere.

And as long as you have a clean system without crud in your gas a fuel pump wont really cause problems unless it goes out. And it wont not work sometimes and work other times. It either works or doesnt as long as your tank is clean.

OEM as in a HONDA part? I have to call BS on that bc I know Honda doesn't sell a complete distributor. And to peice it together costs $700. So what did you really buy?
Could have easily got a re-manufactured for 3-400..

Acura of Peoria has them just over $400. But yes, some models are not sold complete anymore.
