that had to have been kilometers per hour though, because when he launched, it was only about a half second after you hear the tires spin when he says "60" then less than a second later "80" etc.

the specs that car and driver gave said it goes 0-60 MPH in 3 seconds flat and hits 100mph in under 5 seconds. and that it took almost a 2.5 mile straight to hit 200mph. the editor was talkin how bad the tire noise was when it was going 250 around that track. i'd hate to own a veyron honestly. NO ONE makes a street tire that is rated for the speeds it can reach. you have to get them custom made when its time to replace them (which if i owned a veyron, i'd need a new set within a week lol)
C&D said that one of the veyron's biggest setbacks as far as its release was the fact that it took so long for someone to do the R&D for a street tire that can handle speeds in excess of 250mph. it should be interesting to know that the speed governor kicks in at 253 which car and driver said had little to know difficulty reaching that, and that it was revving only 4k in its top gear (7th i believe) out of a 6600 rev range (I may be mistaken on the redline though)

just wait til someone gets really curious and finds a program to eliminate that governor. i bet that beast has the POWER to reach speeds better than 275, if not more. just wait till someone goes all out on one like a few enzo owners did.

I read in a magazine article that Bugatti has a special key called "the speed key" that when inserted, it turns off the governors to allow the car to perform to its full potential. The key even comes in its own wooden box with some kind of luxourious lining inside. I wish i remember what magazine I read that in.
