Hello CI!

I'm a new user and have had a 1990 White DA for a few months now. I'd post pictures but it overheated the other day and is at the shop. I wish I new how to properly diagnose a car but since I don't I leave it to pro's (for now).

Any ways, there is a car that inspired me to buy this teggy for 600$ and it's yellow. The car has been featured in Import Tuner and I'm sure it has been seen by many of you at some point. I have been searching for other pictures besides the one that I have for the last few months. I didn't want to post because many people are JDM fans while I like any customization that looks well done.

My DA is currently all stock but I would love a similar set up as this yellow teg. Does anyone have information on this one?

first off, that isnt a da. thats a 94-01 dc. i think it would be too much for a street car. all that money spent on mods and it would get damaged under normal driving conditions.

don't get too far in over your head. I'm assuming this is your first car... If not, don't be offended for me thinking that  Anyway, focus on making the car reliable first. I spent about $1.3k on my car before I started my build. I replaced the entire braking system, axles, full bushing kit, etc. Get to know your car first. That way when you decide to start building, you'll be enough of a pro to do it yourself 8)

Yup! This is my first car. I loved it and I am not surprised that it is having problems. The car is 20 years old. I'm thoroughly impressed by how well it handles. It shakes when I stop but some times the idle doesn't dance. My suspension needs work since it squeeks when I go over bumps.

Either way, gotta love your 1st teg!

Thanks for the advice of not trying to over do it :D I'm sure it will be a slow build

if your wanting it just like that your looking at heavily mounts of bodywork. from what i see in the pic the doors don open, and if your wanting them to and still have that look your going to be spending a shit load in the custom body shop. im with you on the custom builds man but i have to agree with the guys on this one. i think its shooting to far with a daily driver. lower yours get wheels a spoiler if you like them, put a body kit or lips on, do a good paint job maybe even some graphics if thats what you ike. than bust out a sweet interior with a system a custom leds. ill post you some pics of my buddys civc that one slammin and jammin neon comp 2 years ago. no one has done what we have done wit them. its hard and time consuming but if you like that stuff it makes all the difference instead of having one of those stupid underglow or neon strips in and out of your car.

^^^^ don't do any of that ^^^^^

Like I said, make your car as reliable as you can first. Car shakes when stopping, replace at LEAST your rotors and pads. 20 year old calipers are worth replacing too while you're in there... Idle bounces, remove your IACV and clean it out or replace it. If that doesn't work, check your TPS. And if THAT fails, check for vacuum leaks. (Actually do that first 8) )

After that, if you're more interested in looks, some body work and paint may be what you want to look for. I'd say keep is as "JDM" as possible. I promise you if you don't spend the money on graphics, lights, and spoilers you will thank me. It's much more appreciated and you will learn to love the look of the clean JDM look.

Of course that's just MO...
