I have a 1990 Acura Integra 1.8a 5 speed just came from the smog check wich it didnt pass they said that it needs to eat EGR valve uh I had thought there was no the EGR for a manual transmission

There's not one on a manual. When's the last time you had it tuned up. You know plugs wires air filter fuel filter stuff like that

When I tore into our car; the intake manifold showed that the injectors were really doing a crappy job of spraying. That, and the seals around them were leaking badly. I recommend what emd said but you might have some other components that are not allowing a good fuel burn.
