so a while back i blew my motor. i had an extra ls motor sittin at home so i threw that in there...now the thing is when i turn on the car in the morning or if i leave it sitting for more then 3 hours the idle is around 500 or less and sometimes stalls on me...take in mind it does it only when its cold. if i try to give it gas it stalls..if i even lightly tap the gas pedal it stalls....mods air wise i have a skunk2 intake manifold, and type r throttle body...idk if its because of the TB or wat. but once its warmed up the idle is back at 1k and doesnt do it afterwards...OH and the CEL is on but i dont kno how to read the codes since its OBD1

Keep on Truckin
the problem is that you have that intake manifold and throttle body, and no where near enough mods to warrant them. also your idle shouldnt sit quite at 1k... really about 500. but it shouldnt stall. and like you siad, its cold. that doesnt help

^ his mods shouldnt mess with the idle, granted that they probably helped it make less power, anyways, have you adjusted your tps sensor to the correct voltage? have you messed with your idle screw, and your idle should be abour 700-800, and when you first turn it on to warm up about 1500 or less

i was actually told about settin the tps 2 the correct voltage...now my question is what is the correct voltage? i did mess wit the idle screw at first and it did nothing untill the car warmed up and then it was at 2000 and i messed wit it again till it got to 1000...well wen i first turn it on its really low and shuts off. even on the first turn on. i made a video ill see if i can post it up

n screws that attach TPS to TB. (you may need to take a dremel and make a slot in each screw for a flathead, because USDM TB's have breakaway bolts instead of torque spit bolts)
-turn key to ignition.
-attach voltmeter to middle PIN on the harness and slowly rotate the TPS until the desired voltage is reached. (in this case, between 0.45-0.50 volts)
-tighten down screws finger tight and test for correct voltage at 0 throttle and at WOT (WOT = 4.45 or higher).
-if voltage is correct, tighten down screws, but not too tight or you will crack your TPS.
-turn on car and you should have a perfectly working TPS. You may need to readjust your idle if you messed with it while trying to figure out your original problem, like me.

also check for any vacuum leaks
