Hey im new to this forum, But I have a 90 ls and im trying to change the fuel pump, I have seen the walbros install thread on here but Im having trouble getting the fuel tank down. I removed the two straps and they came off good, nothing is rusted really. I also unplugged the wires on the sending unit under the seat. But now the gas tank wont lower down, I tried prying a little bit but I dont want to break something. Is there some fuel lines I need to disconnect first? I cant see any access to them. Or do I just need to pry a little bit harder? Help would be much appreciated because my car is jacked up in my apartment parking lot and I need to do this quick lol

I got the tank down, and got the new pump in. Now Im just having trouble getting the gas tank back in place. I have been trying to use a jack to get it up into place but its difficult to do alone, and im worried about breaking a fuel line or something. Any suggestions?

I did my install with just me. it helps to have little gas in the tank and I just placed the tank on the center of the jack. lifted it up as high as it would go, connected all lines and then put the straps on. I did center the sending unit holes (one on body and one on tank) while jacking it up. also just need to wiggle/nudge into position. take a little time but should go back in no problem. hope this helps and good luck.

Glad you figured it out all on your own. It's really a pain to do without a second hand, but it gets done. I didn't have anyone to help with my install either lol.

Yea, would have been easier with help, but it feels good to get stuff done on your own sometimes lol

how did you get the tank down?
First drain the tank, Disconnect the fuel sending unit under the back seat, disconnect all fuel lines that you can see running to the tank and the tank fill hose, loosen the chassis bolts on the tank and remove the two straps, pull and wiggle it out towards the back of the car, once I got it about half way out I disconnected the sending line from the fuel pump and lowered it with a jack. It took a lot of messing with it and moving it around to finally get it out. Pain in the ass ha
