Hello guys, I need a answer within 8 hours, im at work now and need to drive home 40 miles....

I was comming off a ramp going 40 or so, slowed to 25 then accelerated and the car began to stutter and make sounds like boom boom boom... low sound though
then the CEL flashed, now the cel has been on due to a front 02 sensor... but now it flashed.

First thought was its the tranny ..!! crap

But anyway i was close to a gas staion, he said he had no time to look at it but it was a MISFIRE....

so then i drove the car to work (1 mile from station) half way there i got to above 40 and the car worked like new... issue was gone.... turned car off, started it... worked fine and CEL was NOT FLASHING...

any ideas? and how soon should i fix this issue??

thanks guys!

It probably was a misfire caused by the o2 sensor. The ECU uses the first o2 sensor feedback along with the map sensor to calculate how much fuel to deliver to the incoming air. I would replace that o2 sensor the first chance I get. A serious lean condition caused by the o2 sensor can be dangerous to your engines health

OK NOW i have been driving with that sensor bad for about 6 months, i use fuel system cleaner every 6 months and have been using fuel octane booster for about 6 months also pretty much half a bottle every fill up....

any of this info matter?

the octane booster probbably didnt help...i mean i run my car on 89 because it likes it more..but b18b1 motors only need 87 octane to run normally. so that probably helped to throw off that o2 sensor...cut back on the booster and replace the o2 sensor...but dont skimp on the o2 sensor...use an oem one or one of equal quality...
