ok i tried using my radio after installing a "shark" antenna i think its called, it has an internal amplifier and needs a +12v ignition power wire, what wire can i tap into to get the +12v, and it didnt have a ground wire, but it had a metal base i guess to ground it to the body, and also if there isnt a 12v pos back there can i splice into the running light circuit for +12v when i need it and what color would the wire be?

Use the far right male blade that the red wire is plugged into in this pic. That's a switched power source, same as an ignition wire.
For future reference, the far left blade is a constant power source.

you could splice into your running lights on your tail lights if you really wanted to, but it might blow a fuse that way too. There's a LOT of stuff running on that fuse already (cd player, climate control, 3rd brake light, drivers and passanger brake lights, all rear running lights, trunk light, internal lights, map lights, and I think that's it... lol)

IMO your best bet is to do what tegsox said and tap into your fuse box. It's not that hard to run wires. Just go like you would when you run a system to your trunk.

and yes, the bare metal is your ground so you won't have to worry about finding a ground for the antenna as long as it's touching bare metal on the body
