My Teg rotates the engine slow but wont start

Hello everyone,

I'm having an issue with my car. The engine rotates slow as hell but won't start.
Heres a list of everything I've checked:
1. I replaced the starter
2. I replaced the battery
3. I pulled the plug for the #1 cylinder turned it over, it had spark and started the car. So I put the plug back in and It slow cranked again.
4. I took the new starter back had it tested came back good.
5. I push started it and it fired right up. But when I drove it, it definitely lacked power. However it did'nt sputter or hesitate it just felt weak.

My tachometer doesn't jump around like it did when the dizzy went bad, so my final thought is would the car run with the coil going faulty? It is a heavily moded car but all N/A. Any advice would be appreciated, Thanks in advance. I also touched each header tube and they're all hot so all cylinders are firing. I'm so puzzled on this one. :???:

Check fuel delivery, clogged filter, weak pump, clogged injectors etc could all be a problem

Should've mentioned fuel delivery is good. My adjustable FPR reads 60 psi like usual. I also loosened the line at the rail and fuel shoots out with pressure. Not only that but when I drove it around the block it wasn't burning up all the fuel it was getting, it was rich. All my fuel pressure was set by my tuner on the dyno I havent messed with it at all.

i cant imagine turning over slow (as if starter was weak) could be anything in the dizzy. Cranking the motor takes place before the dizzy comes into play. One thing id check is for poor connections with grounds etc. Fyi... it could be connecting going back as far as the ignition cylinder. Might need to test for resistances.

From what I've found in books and online they say to check the ignition coil so I tested it. My only question is should I do this with the ignition on or off? Nowhere really specifies. Thanks for the reply btw.

Refer to the 'Advanced ignition troubleshooting' article on team integra. Google search should pull up the link and it will tell you how to do it. Most of the tests are off but theres one test that requires someone cranking the engine so im not sure if thats the one. I think it is but follow the guide for proper instruction.

SO I pulled the ignition coil out and tested it with an ohmeter. The factory specs say it sould be 0.6 to 0.8 mine is reading 1.2. I figured low ohms would cause problems not high ohms but idk on this at all. Please chime in

Looking for my next Teg..
when you resistance is that high it is blocking the ability of the coil to send a solid spark to the plug... weak spark = alot of sputtering and poor power.

swap the coil or just replace the distributor... I was having a similar issue on my G2 and had a couple brand new coils from oreillys be bad straight off.

in the end I just opted to swap my entire distributor and call it a day since it came with a lifetime warranty and solved the issue.
