My spare time project

[Ganyon]

As most of you know, I have tons of animals. Well in my free time I have decided to build a terrarium. This build will consist of building the faux rock background, a waterfall, planting, and hopefully logging with new pictures every week with progress once it is set up. Will be using a 20 gallon fish tank to begin.

Here is a small sketch I made of how I want to lay the tank out.

So far I have the tank and have started on the background.

The background is made of Styrofoam which will be covered in grout and painted.

I will continue to update this every time I do work.

Spent a little more time on the background before work today. I added more rock like pieces, traced them, and numbered them. I need to get some liquid nails or silicone to glue the pieces down.

The tank is actually a decent size in person. I didn't want to go too big, and the tank was free.

I had the day off today so, I drove down to Wal-Mart, got some liquid nails, and went to work on the background. I finished forming the rocks, traced them, labeled them, and went ahead and glued everything down.

I have been busy with work but I finally found time to do work. I now have 2 layers of grout on the wall.

Today I put the 3rd coat of grout on today. A few more coats and it will be ready for paint.

As of right now I just plan to fill it with plants, but later on I might add poison dart frogs or some small lizards.

Yeah I'll take some. Just in my room I have a bearded dragon and a 10 gallon fishtank. I'll take those now.

Here's the fishtank. All the plants in it are live and I am trying to recover them because when we went on vacation the timer stopped working and all the plants died off.

Next is spike. His light is off for the night and he is knocked out. Lol

Then in the basement we have 2 55 gallon fishtanks and another bearded dragon, a leopard gecko in my brothers room, a cockatiel in my parents room, and 8 Chihuahuas.

That tank is beautiful. Unfortunately to do my terrarium I have to take down my 10, but I'm taking over one of my dads 55's.
